The 2XV enjoyed derby day bragging rights against Bangor 3s in a competitive game played in windy conditions at Donaldson Park. The Dee’s youthful squad, bolstered by the return of Ali Lockhart following long term injury, scored eight tries in all, running out 48-12 winners.
Responding to the disappointment of last week’s second half against Ards 3s, Garry Smith’s men delivered an impressive performance with strong displays from Joebe Baseul, James Small, Adam Russell and Andy McCracken.
Man of the match, however, was the evergreen Ozzy Gordon who rolled back the years, scoring a superb solo effort in the second half. A strong start to the season for captain Adam McGrath’s team sees the Dee currently placed second in the Regional East table with three wins from four.
